Sorting items in Team Content and My Content - folders before reports

Sort items (folders, reports) in the same way like in Cognos 10 - folders first and than reports.

    Hi,

Do you know any way to return the situation as it was in version 11.0, so the sorting is only by name and not by file type, or folder first.

    I have version 11.1.7.

    Thank you :)

Correct. this change is to the default sort order, where folders are now always sorted above other asset types. We have no yet implemented custom sorting like Cognos 10 had. You can find the idea for that here: https://ibm-data-and-ai.ideas.aha.io/ideas/CAOP-I-866.

I see that the default sort order matches what we used to have in Cognos 10 in our Cognos 11.1.7 environment. Folders appear first and then any individual objects.

The screen shot shows the sort options in the folder.

Thank you Tim. Can you please clarify where this option exists. Here a screenshot of 11.1.7 and I don't see any custom sorting options

Sorry for missing the comments on this and my delayed response. This change to the sort order was implemented in Cognos Analytics 11.1.4.

This does not exist in 11.0.13 - does it exist in future versions?  You can filter for folders or reports, but not sort as described above which causes extensive scrolling to get to the area you need to find.

    Tim

Can you please clarify where this already exists? I am not aware of any way to custom sort folder content in C11

    Thank you

    Mathias

This should be a sort option on a per-user basis.  It should be a setting in the user preferences.

This is critical for our users - we  have hundreds of reports in the same root as some folders and searching for the folders it very tedious.  Navigation in CA 11 is much more difficult than in C10
