A Dedicated Prompt Page for Dashboards - Let's face it, the banner filters are limited

All Cognos Analytics Dashboard users would benefit from this change, but here is my personal experience as a Senior Cognos Developer:

1. Cognos end users within my organisation have started using other apps like Power BI, instead of Cognos Analytics, due to how limiting the prompts/filters are in Cognos.  

2. Cognos developers in my organisation (myself included) are opting for the Report studio tool to develop reports that look like dashboards, because the prompts on the Dashboard tool are so difficult to work with within the small space (as well as the fact that there is little control over calculations without opening the data module itself).

Such a simple change could address this:

Must have:

  • The ability to add a dedicated Prompt Page (like in the Report tool!) within the Dashboard tool.
  • The Prompt Page would act like the filter bar, interacting with the visualisations by filtering them.
  • The Prompt Page would allow more space to view selections and provide a better user experience.

Nice to have:

  • The ability to add calculations to filters so that prompts are more versatile.
  • The ability save prompts locally and reuse in other dashboards.
