Settings/Properties for Tab Filters

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to suggest some enhancements that could significantly improve the functionality and user experience of tab filters in IBM dashboards.

Currently, while we have the option to utilize tab filters, there seems to be a lack of customizable properties that would greatly enhance their utility. Specifically, I propose the inclusion of properties for tab filters, allowing users to set rules and defaults for more dynamic and efficient dashboard management.

For instance, consider the scenario where a tab filter represents MM-YYYY (Month-Year), and we want the respective option to default automatically as each new month arrives. This functionality would not only streamline the user experience but also enable more spontaneous and varied analyses.

At present, the absence of customizable settings or properties for tab filters limits our ability to implement such rules. Introducing this feature would empower end-users to perform ad-hoc analyses while also facilitating a seamless transition between different filter options.

Additionally, I recommend incorporating settings that allow for scoping of a particular filter across the entire dashboard in relation to widget connections. This enhancement would provide users with greater control over the application of filters throughout the dashboard, enabling them to exclude unnecessary visualizations for a more focused and efficient analysis.

I believe that these enhancements would greatly contribute to the flexibility and effectiveness of IBM dashboards, making them even more powerful tools for data analysis and visualization. Your consideration of these suggestions is highly appreciated, and I am confident that these improvements would be well-received by the user community.
