Edit data module from report and dashboard editors

It is possible to open a data module from another data module when it is used as a data source by the according context menu (three dots). This is a nice and convenient feature to make changes to an underlying source. It should also be possible to edit a data module as an underlying source from reports and dashboards. You often need to make changes to a data module when you are already creating your report or dashboard (especially in self service). Up to now you need to navigate to the data module first. I assume this enhancement would mean a minor code change for you.

    Hi, Right now we allow users to make changes to the data module in the data modelling UI which will be saved and used for all downstream reports and dashboards consuming that data module. Then, a subset of changes can be made within the dashboards UI, for example, that are unique to that dashboard and will not effect other consumers of the original data module (things like new calculations, filters, groups, etc.)


    We can hold on to this idea for future consideration. Thank you for the feedback!
