I have lots of customer requirements for dashboards which are type of “show values for all vendors except one special” or “Give me all customers with revenue greater than $ xyz”. There’s no good way in achieving this kind of filtering in dashboards as there can only be filters created on measures with a value range and filtering on members is always a positive list.
Filtering on measure values like “greater/less than” can be achieved by typing in a ridiculous high value. E.g you want all customers with revenue>10,000 then you have to set a filter like “Revenue between 10,000.01 and 999,999,999. But how to deal with member filters if another member gets added to the dimension? The dashboard filter has to be edited every time.
It should be able to add greater/less than and "not" filters in dashboards
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||all customers using dashboards|
How should it work?
Add a selection to measure value filters where users can choose if they want a value range, equals, greater/less than a specific value. There should also be a property added to member filters which states “in or not in selection”.
