Send count(distinct ... for ...) to database when DB2_COUNT_DISTINCT_SCALAG (DB2 11.5.5) is active (Cognos 11.1.7)

We have thousands of complex reports with expressions like that: "count(distinct ... for ...)".

Cognos (DQM) uses a workaround to push expressions like that to the database (row_number+count). This workaround works only in simple cases but not in complex cases with many queries, joins and complex expressions.

Since Version 11.5.5 DB2 database can execute OLAP Window expressions with DISTINCT on function COUNT, for example: count(distinct ...) over (partition by ...)

Cognos 11.1.7 should use the new possibility as soon as possible.

    Hi there,

in order to have a fast and easy to implement solution, couldn't COGNOS implement the option to push down the COUNT DISTINCT to Db2 database using a option or parameter too? Thus application admin and database admin could make sure that right options are set on both sides? Wouldn't this allow to implement such enhancement in current release already?
