We are trying to display value labels above our stacked bar charts. These values should show the aggregate values of each layer of the bar.
However, unlike a regular bar chart, where we can show a total value on top of each bar, Cognos Dashboards only seem to allow a stacked bar charts to display values for each individual layers of a bar. Not an aggregated total on top of the bar (see attached).
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||As a customer I want me and my dashboard users to easily visualize comparisons in our revenue (displayed on bar charts). The aggregate values allow us to see the numbers right away.|
How should it work?
The new capability should look something like the attached image below. Users should be able to enable aggregate values above a stacked bar chart so we can visualize the total along with the individual layer values. This could be two separate stacked bar chart property options where users can toggle either layer values or bar total values.
|Priority Justification||This would be a great feature to some of our dashboards that leverage stacked column charts. It will provide that seamless "at-a-glance" experience of dashboards.|
