Email Delivery Pop up Box in Interactive Report

We have certain reports to be delivered to external users in PDF format. These reports were originally built in Cognos 10.2.2 in classic Viewer Mode.

On prompt page, we have drill through button to run reports for different parameters and send to email delivery from same prompt page without need to rerun reports. Since some options have large number of records, Users also run after business hours and schedule using Email delivery option to be ready in morning.

With recent changes to data, there is need to maintain two version of final outputs based on year. In Classic Viewer mode, we have 2 reports and we redirect to correct reports based on year selected.

With upgrade to CA 11.1.x, we see opportunity to improve prompt page design and use custom control to provide quick search and submit emails outputs in similar way. However, since interactive mode is not currently providing option to select email delivery on pop up box, to do it, we have to separate out prompt page report. That means more maintenance for changes and running report.

    Thanks Rachel for considering it. It will be quite helpful to bring such functionalities to interactive mode to simplify Reporting Architecture and leverage new features more.
    Hope it's available soon in 11.1.7 FP.

    We have added the ability to email report using share option when the report is executed in the viewer. We also plan to add the ability to cancel the report execution or send the execution to background when using the email option. This is a roadmap item.
