At this point in time, I feel that our existing access controls are a great approach to securing your Cognos content. We are certainly open to this feature in the future if compelling use cases emerge.

Thanks for the quick reply! There's a couple of ways today that you can keep your data private:
    1) Move the data into the "My Content" folder (or a sub-folder within there), that means that no one else will have any access to this data through Cognos.

    2) Have the data in "Team Content" but alter the permissions on the data. You can do this by acessing the properties on the data asset through the ... menu, and then select the "Permissions" tab, add yourself with read and write access, and remove all other users/groups from the list.

You can read all about access permissions here: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEP7J_11.1.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.ca_gtstd.doc/c_gtst_access_permissions.html

Will this functionality satisfy your use case? Or is there something additional that you'd like to see in the product?

    Hi, Thanks for your response.

Since I work with sensitive company's database and saved such as excel data in the folder.

I would like to hide this folder so that none can open this hidden file.

    Looking forwards

Thank you for submitting this idea! I would like to better understand any use cases you had in mind around this functionality. It is already possible to hide folders from other users using permissions. In what cases would you like to password protect a folder?
