Parameter Cache: Additional successful entries are getting created for the reports during the scheduled Job execution/individual report runs

Currently, we are able to view the entries for the parameter cache from appearing in the history in the below scenarios:

  • We are able to see entries for parameter cache for interactive report runs in Administration, though interactive run history is not traditionally present in Past Activities. So, that would mean that we have an orphan entry in Administration for an interactive report parameter cache, without having an entry for the actual interactive report execution. This is misleading. We should have an entry for both or none.
  • If reports are run through a job, the parameter cache entries for the reports appear outside the job, while the actual report execution details appear within the job. So, that would mean that a job having 30 reports, will have 30 individual entries for parameter cache outside the job, thus cluttering the page and giving the user the impression that these are 30 individual reports, though they are infact part of a job. It makes more sense to have just two entries for the job itself, one containing the reports having the parameter cache details, and the other entry having the actual execution details.

This is a valid feature request. It is not currently being worked on but we would like to continue monitoring this idea through voting.
