  3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Governance Workflows by Steward

As a business SME, owner, or steward assigned to a governance artifact, I would like to know when that governance artifact has been created, modified, or deleted. Governance workflows should be configured so that a steward on an artifact is listed in the review/approval flow rather than a group of people by role or a set of people for an entire organization.

In order to distribute the work of approving new governance artifacts (federated model with centralized organization) we need to be able to assign stewards as the assignees for subject areas where they are experts.

100+ users impacted daily by this at our organization.

Who would benefit from this IDEA? As a data steward, I want to be assigned to a governance artifact and, by default, be included in the approval workflow, so that I can approve creation/management of the artifact relevant to my domain of expertise.
How should it work?

1. The business term "Diagnosis" is created as a draft

2. Natalie Smith is added as a steward for the business term Diagnosis

3. The business term is sent for approval

4. Natalie Smith is sent a notification for approval

^ the same flow would apply for all governance artifacts & assigned stewards.

Priority Justification Governance workflows do not serve a purpose for us in their current capability

This idea is actually something we're implementing in v3.5 of CP4D coming out this year. Users will be able to configure workflows on governance artifacts such that the data steward on that artifact can be assigned as the approver or any other task in workflow. I look forward to hearing feedback once you are able to test it out!
